4.371

述曰：且許有色界以色身有故，識無漏時壽、煖可在。或有色界有色身故，設識無漏以義隱，故今不為難。生無色界既無於煖，起無漏心爾時，何識能持彼壽？無色身故，何所依持。

The Commentary states: Tentatively granting that in the realm with form, because the physical body exists, when consciousness is undefiled, life and warmth can be present. Or, in the realm with form, because the physical body exists, even if consciousness is undefiled, because the principle is obscure, we do not now formulate an objection for it. But when born in the formless realm, since warmth is absent, at the time an undefiled mind arises, what consciousness is capable of sustaining that life? Because there is no physical body, upon what could it rely and be sustained?
