述曰：下第五難死漸捨識。世親、無性《攝論》皆云：善業從下冷，惡業從上冷，由生勝趣惡趣別故。《瑜伽》第一云：隨下、上冷後至於心，此處初生最後捨故。

The Commentary states: The fifth challenge below concerns the gradual abandonment of consciousness at death. The commentaries on the *Mahāyānasaṃgraha* by both Vasubandhu and Asvabhāva say: good karma grows cold from below, bad karma grows cold from above, because of the distinction between taking birth in superior destinies and bad destinies. The first fascicle of the *Yogācārabhūmi* says: following whether cold starts from below or above, it finally reaches the heart, because this place is where [life] first arises and is the last to be abandoned.
