述曰：二十部中，汝若執無第八識者，依何等食？經說是言：一切有情皆依食住。若以轉識而為食者，即入無心定等位時，便有有情不依食住。如何佛說：一切有情皆依食住？

The Commentary states: Among the twenty schools, if you hold that there is no eighth consciousness, on what nutriment do [sentient beings] depend? The sūtra states: 'All sentient beings subsist on nutriment.' If one takes the transforming consciousnesses to be nutriment, then at the time of entering the mindless absorptions and so forth, there would be sentient beings who do not subsist on nutriment. How then could the Buddha have said, 'All sentient beings subsist on nutriment'?
