The Commentary states: The third objection. That form is not separate from consciousness is as explained in fascicle one; holding seeds and receiving perfuming is as explained in fascicles two and three. What is the meaning of refuting that form is separate from consciousness? That form exists in this state shows that the fundamental consciousness exists; it is not that form is admitted to exist while the fundamental consciousness is absent. The fundamental consciousness can receive perfuming, whereas form cannot hold seeds. Having refuted both schools, below it concludes together with the correct doctrine.
