The Commentary states: The fourth is an objection by inference. In the stated five mindless states, there is definitely and truly consciousness; because they possess faculties, lifespan, and warmth, and are subsumed under sentient beings; like states with mind. The phrase "possess faculties, lifespan, and warmth" cites the sūtra as complete proof.
