述曰：上來但總破，故思言等等取有觸。此位有思，亦應有觸，餘心所法皆依觸力生故。量云：此位應有觸；有思等故；如餘有心位。餘有心位以觸為本，無有本無而末有故，以末例本亦令本有。

The Commentary states: Above was only a general refutation, so the word "and the rest" after cetanā took in the presence of sparśa. If this state has cetanā, it should also have sparśa, because all other caitasika dharmas are generated relying on the power of sparśa. The formal argument states: This state should have sparśa; because it has cetanā and the rest; like other states possessing citta. Other states possessing citta take sparśa as their root; there is never a case where the root is absent while the branches are present; by drawing a parallel from the branches to the root, it also causes the root to be present.
