述曰：佛簡別言唯是無明所增之觸所生諸受，有漏染受為緣生愛，以相順故。非一切受皆能生愛，曾無有教簡觸生受，此散心位觸能生受，此滅定位觸不生受，何得為例？

The Commentary states: The Buddha specified that only vedanā generated by sparśa augmented by avidyā—sāsrava defiled vedanā—serves as a condition to generate tṛṣṇā, because they conform to each other. It is not that all vedanā can generate tṛṣṇā. Yet there has never been any teaching specifying [which] sparśa generates vedanā, [saying] that sparśa in this state of distracted citta can generate vedanā, while sparśa in this state of cessation does not generate vedanā. How can it serve as a parallel?
