述曰：自下第十引《染淨心經》。《維摩》等云：心淨故眾生淨，心垢故眾生垢，其《阿含》等亦有此文。今言：心染故情染等，此如《瑜伽》五十四卷識住中解。此中意說：以本識現、種為染淨心令有情染淨，即當《攝論》〈染淨章〉。〈染章〉即三雜染，〈淨章〉即是世出世淨。

The Commentary states: Next, in the tenth section, the Sūtra on the Defiled and Pure Mind is cited. The Vimalakīrti-nirdeśa and other texts state: 'Because the mind is pure, sentient beings are pure; because the mind is defiled, sentient beings are defiled.' Such passages also occur in the Āgamas and other texts. Here it says: 'Because the mind is defiled, sentient beings are defiled,' and so forth; this is explained in the fifty-fourth fascicle of the Yogācārabhūmi under the abodes of consciousness (vijñāna-sthiti). The meaning here is: by taking the actual states and seeds of the fundamental consciousness as the defiled and pure mind, sentient beings are caused to be defiled or pure, which corresponds to the 'Chapter on Defilement and Purity' in the Mahāyānasaṃgraha. The 'Chapter on Defilement' refers to the three afflictive defilements (saṃkleśa), and the 'Chapter on Purity' refers to mundane and supramundane purity.
