述曰：下別解中有二：初解雜染；後解清淨。染中有二：初總舉；後別破。即攝《攝論》三種雜染，三界見、修所有煩惱名煩惱。一切有漏善、不善業名業，此業所得總別異熟名果。此總舉已，下自別破。別破之中文分為二：初明煩惱；後明業、果。

The Commentary states: In the detailed explanation below, there are two parts: first, explaining defilement; second, explaining purity. Within defilement, there are two parts: first, a general presentation; second, individual refutations. This subsumes the three kinds of defilement in the Mahāyānasaṃgraha: all afflictions of the three realms [abandoned by] vision and cultivation are called 'afflictions'; all contaminated wholesome and unwholesome karma is called 'karma'; and the general and specific retributions obtained through this karma are called 'fruits.' Having thus generally presented them, below he refutes them individually. The text of the individual refutations is divided into two parts: first, clarifying afflictions; second, clarifying karma and fruit.
