4.740

論：頌曰至出世道無有。

Treatise: The verse states: [Next is the second transformer; this consciousness is called manas, / Which develops by relying on that and has that as its object; its nature and mark are thinking. / It is always associated with four defilements: / Self-delusion, self-view, / As well as self-pride and self-love, / Together with the other [mental factors such as] touch and so on. / It is defiled and indeterminate, bound to the realm and plane where it is born. / In the arhat, the samāpatti of cessation, / And] on the transmundane path, it does not exist.
