述曰：聖說本識變似根等，汝撥為無，便違聖教。謂《解深密經》、《楞迦》、《中邊》頌。識生變似義等，及七十六、并五十一、《顯揚》十七等，說識變根等。

The Commentary states: The noble ones taught that the fundamental consciousness transforms to resemble faculties and so forth; in repudiating them as non-existent, you contradict the noble teachings. This refers to the Saṃdhinirmocana-sūtra, the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra, the verse of the Madhyānta-vibhāga on consciousness arising transforming into the likeness of artha and so forth, as well as fascicles 76 and 51, and Fascicle 17 of the Prakaraṇāryavācā, and so on, which state that consciousness transforms into faculties and so forth.
