述曰：彼若不許第七有依，亦應非是轉識所攝，則違聖教。六十三云：轉識有七，彼言識有二：一、藏識；二、轉識，謂眼識、乃至意識。《顯揚》十七、八、九亦然。

The Commentary states: If they do not accept that the seventh has a support, it should also not be subsumed under the evolving consciousnesses, which would contradict the noble teachings. Fascicle 63 says: evolving consciousnesses are seven. It says that consciousnesses are two: 1) the storehouse consciousness; 2) evolving consciousnesses, namely eye-consciousness up to mental consciousness. Fascicles 17, 18, and 19 of the Prakaraṇāryavācā are also like this.
