述曰：第八現行是住依故。又隨新熏、本有種子，初熏習位或生或長。亦依能熏，則有二依後不定故。此顯第八現、種所依與前有別。

[The Commentary states:] Because the active eighth is the support for abidance. Moreover, according to newly perfumed or innate seeds, at the stage of initial perfuming it either generates or grows. It also relies on the perfumer, and thus has two supports; the latter is not invariable. This demonstrates that the supports of the active and seed forms of the eighth differ from the previous [positions].
