述曰：即前有境，眼等為果，無所緣境，故非有所依。此解所有、能依，翻出能有所依，以顯所有所依之義。四義不具，色等非依，即第二義非有境簡。

The Commentary states: This refers to the aforementioned possessing of an intentional object. With the eyes and so forth as results, they have no cognitive object, and therefore they do not 'possess a support.' This explains what possesses [a support] and what is supported, turning around the capable of possessing a support to elucidate the meaning of possessing a support. When the four criteria are not complete, matter and so forth are not supports; this is the exclusion by the second criterion of not possessing an intentional object.
