述曰：下第四段有四：一、標宗；二、引證；三、會違；四、解種。第八所依唯亦一種，謂第七識，第七若無八不轉故。何以知然？

The Commentary states: Below, the fourth section has four parts: 1. setting forth the thesis; 2. adducing proof; 3. resolving contradictions; 4. explaining seeds. The basis of the eighth [consciousness] is also only one kind, namely the seventh consciousness, because if the seventh is absent, the eighth does not operate. How is this known to be so?
