述曰：因此識依遂廣分別，名傍論也。諸識所依，總說頌曰：「五、四、六有二，七、八一俱依，及開導、因緣，一一皆增二。」

[The Commentary states:] Taking the support of this consciousness as the occasion for an extensive differentiation is termed a 'side discussion'. The supports of the various consciousnesses are stated summarily in the verse: 'Five have four, six has two, / Seven and eight have one simultaneous support; / Along with the opening-and-guiding and causal conditions, / Each adds two.'
