述曰：下文有三：初解頌中緣彼之言；次顯因果識所緣相；三釋妨難。初中有二：初舉頌答；後更別解。此舉頌答，自下釋頌。

[The Commentary states:] The text below has three parts: first, explaining the words 'takes that as cognitive object' in the verse; next, showing the characteristics of the cognitive object of consciousness in cause and effect; third, resolving objections. In the first part there are two: first, citing the verse to answer; then, explaining separately. This cites the verse to answer; below is the explanation of the verse.
