述曰：如第六識緣前等無間緣意，既是所依亦是所緣，大小二乘既共許，此第七緣第八，亦即依之，有何過也？此中亦如第六緣第七，隱故局故，此中不說，即是第三解所緣訖。

The Commentary states: Just as the sixth consciousness takes the preceding immediately antecedent condition—the manas—as object, which is both its basis and its objective support, and this is mutually accepted by both Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna, what fault is there if this seventh consciousness takes the eighth as object and also relies upon it? Here, it is also like the sixth taking the seventh as object, but because it is hidden and restricted, it is not mentioned here. This concludes the third [section] explaining the objective support.
