述曰：舉頌第六、第七句答。於中有二：初列頌名；後依列別釋。此以無明為本，因先有故，先說無明。後三果故，後說餘三。諸論先陳其果，後說其因，以尤重故。

The Commentary states: This cites the sixth and seventh lines of the verses in reply. Therein are two parts: first, listing the names in the verses; later, explaining them separately according to the list. Here, nescience (avidyā) is the fundamental root; because the cause comes first, nescience is spoken of first. Because the latter three are effects, the remaining three are spoken of later. The treatises first set forth their effects and later state their causes because [effects] are particularly grave.
