The Commentary states: This analogy is the same as that of the first master above. If drawn as a distant analogy with the above, it is the same as the eighth consciousness and so is not separately explained; the four fundamental afflictions are shared as explained before. However, even if forgetfulness is a part of delusion, because its ākāra does not differ from the part of mindfulness among the particular objects, it is not stated to exist. Even if incorrect knowing is a part of wisdom, it is also a part of delusion. Distraction having a distinct substance differs in ākāra from concentration and wisdom; fearing one might think it also associates, it is now separately stated. Furthermore, because the ākāra of incorrect knowing is strong, since wisdom is accepted to exist, fearing one might also accept that it exists, it is excluded. Forgetfulness, wrong desire, and wrong resolve, by the aforementioned reasoning, are also not omnipresent factors. Being small parts of the particular objects, they are therefore not stated here.
