述曰：此為問起，此識及心所，何性所攝？下答有二：初依頌答因位；後總解果位。

The Commentary states: This raises the question: by what moral nature are this consciousness and its mental factors subsumed? The answer below has two parts: first, answering about the causal state based on the verse; and second, generally explaining the fruition state.
