述曰：又彼若言，經言平等智，非第八俱。第八俱者，名鏡智故。即依第六，此中唯取第六識也。又六識中，隨依一識之能依智者，不然。《佛地經》中說此智品佛位恒行，即汝共許。許佛恒無轉異行，如鏡智故，非六識智，六識智有轉異，不恒故。又間斷名不行，此非間斷名恒行，如下第十平等智處說。

The Commentary states: Furthermore, if they say that the sūtra states that the wisdom of equality does not accompany the eighth—since that which accompanies the eighth is called the mirror-like wisdom (ādarśajñāna)—and therefore it depends on the sixth, here taking only the sixth consciousness; or that among the six consciousnesses, it is a dependent wisdom that depends on any one consciousness: this is not so. In the Buddhabhūmi-sūtra it is said that this category of wisdom operates uninterruptedly in the Buddha stage, which you also accept. You accept that in a Buddha it is constantly without alternating modes of activity, just like the mirror-like wisdom, and is not a wisdom of the six consciousnesses, for the wisdom of the six consciousnesses undergoes changes and is not constant. Furthermore, interrupted activity is called 'non-operation', whereas this is uninterrupted and called 'constant operation', as explained below in the section on the wisdom of equality in the tenth fascicle.
