述曰：此申義也。「主」是自在義，為因依義，與彼為依故名不共。何故無明名為不共？謂從無始際，顯長夜常起，恒內惛迷，明一切時生，曾不省察，彰恒執我，無修返時，此意總顯癡主自在義。

The Commentary states: This presents his own position. 'Sovereign' has the sense of mastery, the sense of being a cause and support; because it serves as the support for those [others], it is called unshared. Why is ignorance called unshared? Because, from the beginningless limit, showing that it constantly arises in the long night, continually confused internally, it is born at all times, never reflecting, revealing that it constantly grasps the self and has no time of turning back through cultivation; this overall intention reveals the meaning of delusion as sovereign and having mastery.
