The Commentary states: The faculties and objects each have six distinctions, and consciousness varies according to them; therefore it is neither more nor less, nor is it arbitrarily distinct. Furthermore, it clarifies that since this consciousness is fixed at the number six in accordance with the faculties and objects, when it receives its name it is not based solely on one, but receives its name from both faculties and objects. The Great Treatise (Yogācārabhūmi) also states that consciousness is named after the faculty, named after the object, and even named consciousness of blue and so forth. Which are the consciousnesses named after the six faculties based on faculties?
