The Commentary states: The individual explanation has three parts: first, correctly explaining the text of the verse; next, setting forth agreements and differences in disputation; finally, showing under which nature the fruition state is subsumed. In the first part there are again two: first, explaining the three natures. Because the name is obscure, it explains it first: what is called the indeterminate nature? It means the indeterminate nature among the three natures. Why is it called "neither"? It reveals that its intrinsic nature is neither of the two intrinsic natures, wholesome or unwholesome; therefore it is called "neither." The explanation of the name "indeterminate" is set forth separately below. For now, what is called "wholesome"?
