The Commentary states: 'Neither of the two' means neither in training nor beyond training. [Fascicle] fifty-seven states that the three feelings can broadly be subsumed under beyond training. That text speaks in terms of whatever faculties they possess. That which accords with them is precisely them. The faculties of grief and pain are both [in] training; the faculty of pain is also [in] beyond training. Each is as in that text. Furthermore, [fascicle] sixty-six has various gates distinguishing training, abandonment, and so forth, which are considerably superior for collation. Although these various gates share names with the Hīnayāna, the dharma substances are entirely different.
