述曰：二、返詰。此前師問：此辨六識，故無客捨；不約八識，作法為論。不爾，餘三即無法故。若言喜、樂更取一形，以無二形故者，豈鬼、畜中亦無二形者？又地獄何故不許有二形也？故彼三無兼取客捨。

The Commentary states: Second, cross-examination. This is the former master asking: This analyzes the six consciousnesses, hence there is no adventitious equanimity; it does not take the eight consciousnesses to formulate the doctrine. Otherwise, the remaining three would have no factors. If one says that joy and pleasure additionally take one gender faculty because they lack two gender faculties, could it be that among pretas and animals there are also none with two gender faculties? Moreover, why should hell not be allowed to have two gender faculties? Therefore, those three absences additionally take adventitious equanimity.
