Language
Classical Chinese

6.136

The Commentary states: The arising of the five, desire and so forth, may be concurrent or not concurrent. How this is known: fascicle three of the *Yogācārabhūmi* speaks of the four universals, and states that these five kinds lack the latter two [universals]. The third is time, and the fourth is concurrence; because they are not necessarily concurrent. If one says that their mental modes do not increase concurrently and therefore that text does not say they are concurrent, since the substances of the five would both be present, it should have spoken of it there.
