The Commentary states: Fascicle fifty-five states: These five, desire and so forth, arise in dependence on four objects: the agreeable, the determined, the previously practiced, and the contemplated. The four objects that are grasped and the grasping factors—desire and so forth—are not concurrent. The treatise says that these five arise depending on the four objects; if the objects are not necessarily concurrent, desire and so forth are not necessarily concurrent. Because the objects grasped and the grasping factors are each not definitely concurrent, they do not necessarily assist each other. How is this meaning explained?
