述曰：《對法》第七、《瑜伽》五十九說：貪與憂、苦相應。貪必欲前境，故必欲俱，亦知欲數苦、憂俱也。即答前師，欲憂、苦並。

The Commentary states: The seventh fascicle of the Abhidharma-samuccaya and the fifty-ninth fascicle of the Yogācārabhūmi state that craving is associated with grief and suffering. Craving necessarily desires the object before it, so it necessarily associates with desire; thus we also know that the mental factor of desire associates with suffering and grief. This refutes the previous master's claim, showing that desire can occur alongside grief and suffering.
