述曰：任自思取，然五數與煩惱、隨煩惱相應，有漏善心或俱、不俱等，下自當知。非以煩惱等中欣、慼行別故，善中加行、生得緣世、無為別故，不與相應。前遍行五，有心必有，明通一切皆無遮故，但於欲等諸門分別。

The Commentary states: Let the reader reflect on this for themselves. However, whether the five mental factors associate with the afflictions and secondary afflictions, or whether they are accompanied or unaccompanied by sāsrava wholesome minds, and so forth, will be understood below. It is not that because the modes of activity such as joy and sorrow among the afflictions differ, or because preparatory and innate [states] among the wholesome differ in taking conditioned and unconditioned phenomena as object, they do not associate with them. The preceding five omnipresent factors are necessarily present whenever there is a mind, clearly pervading all without obstruction; hence the analysis across these various gates is made only for desire and the others.
