述曰：此明業用。《顯揚》說有五業，然治不信，初與此同。此言樂善，即彼四種：能得菩提資糧滿故、利益自他故、趣善道、增長信，即是論中堅固信也。《對法論》說：樂欲所依為業，即是彼第九云：信為欲依，約入佛法初首為論。若言通論一切信業，《顯揚》五業中除第二菩提因。

The Commentary states: This explains its functional activity. The Prakaraṇāryavācā states that there are five activities; however, in counteracting lack of faith, its first is identical to this. What is here called 'delighting in the wholesome' corresponds to those four: being able to fulfill the provisions for bodhi, benefiting oneself and others, progressing toward good destinies, and increasing faith; that is, firm faith in the treatise. The Abhidharma-samuccaya states: 'Its activity is to serve as the support for desire', which corresponds to its ninth fascicle stating: 'Faith is the support for desire', speaking from the perspective of initial entry into the Buddha's teaching. If we speak generally of all activities of faith, the second, 'cause of bodhi', is excluded from the five activities in the Prakaraṇāryavācā.
