述曰：論主難云：若離欲、解，決非順相；非彼二故；如受、想等。故論但言：「離彼二體，無順相故。由此應知，心淨為信。」忍可及欲是信之具，正理論師以忍可為信，即當此勝解也。

The Commentary states: The author of the treatise raises an objection, saying: if it is apart from desire and resolution, it definitely does not have the characteristic of compliance; because it is not those two; like sensation (vedanā), perception (saṃjñā), and so forth. Therefore, the treatise merely states: "Apart from those two substances, there is no characteristic of compliance. From this, one should know that purification of the mind is faith." Endorsement and desire are the instruments of faith; masters of the Nyāyānusāra take endorsement as faith, which corresponds to this resolution.
