The Commentary states: Reversing four factors among the twenty secondary afflictions—non-wrath, non-enmity, non-affliction, and non-envy—is also like this. As appropriate, they directly reverse a part of non-ill-will, because what they remedy is a part of ill-will. The words 'as appropriate' show that they are unlike rejoicing which is conjoined with desire; these factors like wrath are not so, each being reversed individually. Furthermore, they are merely parts of that non-ill-will, hence the statement 'as appropriate'. The further word 'and so forth' relies on the eighty-ninth fascicle of the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra to include the seven factors of non-furious outburst, non-ill-spokenness, non-intolerance, non-defiance, non-disparagement, thought free from ill-will, and thought free from harm.
