述曰：三說可知。然《對法》解慢不敬苦生為業，即此中第三，慚一分勝，以慚崇敬師長等故。此論卷下煩惱之中，但言障不慢，義可通三。然障於慚，如前理可。

The Commentary states: The three explanations can be understood. However, the Abhidharma-samuccaya explains pride's activity as producing suffering through lack of respect; this corresponds to the third here, where a part of shame is superior, because shame reveres and respects teachers, seniors, and the like. In the lower fascicle of this treatise, under afflictions, it merely says it obstructs non-pride, so the meaning can apply to all three. However, its obstructing shame is plausible according to the preceding reasoning.
