The Commentary states: The Abhidharma-samuccaya and other works agree; fascicle 55 is also like this. Its stating "conventionally existent" is because the phrase "conventionally existent" applies to both the nominal and the real, as cited above. Those who hold that the wholesome root of non-delusion has no separate essence say: Just as the five views are definitely conventional, not that their essence is nominal, because they are simply discernment among the object-determining factors; non-delusion is also like this: although it is said to be substantially existent, it is simply the wholesome nature of discernment, not like equanimity and so forth which are formed by four factors, its essence not being a distinct nature. If so, by analogy non-harm would also be like discernment. Therefore, the present commentary affirms the orthodox view, saying that it agrees with the Abhidharma-samuccaya: three are nominal and eight are real, the reasons being as stated in the text.
