The Commentary states: The following text has five parts: first, refuting the previous view; second, resolving objections; third, revealing the correct view; fourth, citing proof; fifth, resolving doubts. This is the first. The previous view is incorrect. You say that when investigating facts without decision, there are minds of the three natures. If you say that in that wholesome mind there is no faith, then it should not be wholesome, because it lacks pure faith, just like a defiled or indeterminate mind. "Defiled and so forth" includes indeterminate by "and so forth". Furthermore: A wholesome mind definitely has faith arising, because it is subsumed under wholesome mind, just like a wholesome mind at the time of concentration.
