述曰：又且「末底」等是字界，界是性義，由毘字是緣，緣助界力，義便轉變。何為緣助界已，體尚是舊？故此疑非即慧。此師說疑，與《顯揚》、《對法》同也。

The Commentary states: Moreover, 'mati' and so on are verbal roots (dhātu); dhātu means 'nature'. The prefix 'vi' is a condition (pratyaya); when the power of the verbal root is aided by the condition, the meaning changes. Why would it be that after the condition aids the verbal root, the essence remains the old one? Therefore, this doubt is not identical with prajñā. This master's explanation of doubt is the same as in the Prakaraṇāryavācā and the Abhidharmasamuccaya.
