述曰：謂由於前我見執我已，隨此我見後執為斷、常。謂緣前所緣為境，障非斷、常，說有因果；處中行道諦及出離滅諦，然此是總。

The Commentary states: That is to say, because of grasping a self by the preceding view of a self, subsequent to this view of a self, one grasps it as annihilated or eternal. That is, taking the preceding object of engagement as its sphere of cognition, it obstructs the non-annihilation and non-eternity that asserts cause and effect, the Middle Path of the Truth of the Path, and the departure of the Truth of Cessation. However, this is a general explanation.
