The Commentary states: In this first category, there are two parts: first, the correct distinction; second, divergent interpretations. This is the first part. Whether taken generally or specifically, there are only ten kinds. First, innate and intellectually formed: the six beginning with attachment—the four dull and two sharp ones—apply to both the intellectually formed and the innate. Except for doubt and the [latter] three views, they arise spontaneously, hence are innate; they arise through reflective investigation, hence are intellectually formed. Prakaraṇāryavācā, fascicle 1, and the Great Treatise, fascicle 8, both state that these six apply to both the innate and the intellectually formed.
