述曰：此解彼云：謂若於他起愛染者，必不陵彼，以境非同，行相亦別，故不俱起。然緣己身起愛名所染，與所恃之我慢等境可一故，《對法》等說得相應。前約行相麁者，此約行相細者，如前第四卷，第七識中已多門解。

The Commentary states: This resolves that text: namely, if one gives rise to attachment toward another, one will certainly not hold them in contempt; because the objects are not the same and their cognitive modes are distinct, they do not arise together. However, taking one's own body as an object and giving rise to love is called that which is attached to, which can have the same object as the self-conceit that relies upon it; therefore, the Samuccaya and other works state that they can associate. The former statement is made regarding coarse cognitive modes, while this one is made regarding subtle cognitive modes, as has already been explained under multiple categories in fascicle 4 regarding the seventh consciousness.
