The Commentary states: Anger and the [other] three views can sometimes arise together. First, regarding the view of self-existence and extreme views: when taking aggregates accompanied by pleasure as the self and as permanent, the view does not generate anger, because they are agreeable to oneself. The Samuccaya states that anger is not associated with views with reference to the preceding two grasps and this [case]. But if in a painful state one takes aggregates accompanied by suffering as the self and as permanent, one gives rise to hatred and indignation, saying, 'What use do I have for this body?'—thus giving rise to hatred and indignation. The two passages in the Yogācāra state that they can arise together based on this one aspect; this applies to both the innate and the intellectually formed, which presents no obstruction below.
