6.634

The Commentary states: Fourth, explaining the two views of self-existence and extreme views; there are two explanations, and this is the first. The two views of self-existence and extreme views coexist only with joy, pleasure, and equanimity. The mind lacks the feeling of suffering and does not coexist with the five consciousnesses, so there is no feeling of suffering. These innate ones are solely of indeterminate nature and are not associated with sorrow, because sorrow has two natures. That sorrow has two natures is as in Fascicle 57, in the gateway of analyzing the natures of the twenty-two faculties; that the innate two views are solely indeterminate is as stated in Fascicle 58.
