述曰：下第二段別答所問。初一句頌顯明初位，前本識中已辨其相，今略標之。下三句頌，釋第二位，於中有二：上二句顯第二位名；下一句釋別境義。下長行中，准頌所明，分為二段。解遍行中有二：初總解頌初句；後釋遍行之義。

The Commentary states: Below, the second section specifically answers the question. The first line of the verse clearly illuminates the first category; its characteristics have already been distinguished above under the fundamental consciousness (mūlavijñāna), and are now briefly noted. The next three lines explain the second category; within this, there are two parts: the upper two lines elucidate the name of the second category; the lower one line explains the meaning of "specific sphere" (viniyata-viṣaya). In the prose below, following what is clarified in the verse, it is divided into two sections. In explaining the omnipresent (sarvatraga) factors, there are two parts: first, generally explaining the first line of the verse; second, explaining the meaning of "omnipresent".
