述曰：第二，子門，生下、上起上、下門。「生在下地，容起上十一」，耽定故起憍一法，於他欲界有情等起誑、諂故。餘八通染，潤生心等皆有彼故。

[The Commentary states:] Second is the subsection on giving rise to the higher or lower when born in the lower or higher stages. "When born in a lower stage, one may give rise to eleven of the higher stages": out of indulgence in concentration, one gives rise to the single factor of arrogance; and toward other sentient beings of the desire realm, one gives rise to fraud and deceit. The remaining eight are common to defilement, because the mind that moisturizes rebirth and so forth all possess them.
