述曰：第二師說：此四亦苦受俱，意有苦故，悔增至三，眠增至四，極苦之處亦有眠，尋、伺增至五受俱起。「尋、伺」——《大論》第五不言與苦、樂俱者，如前已會，此據實理，彼約別義。

The Commentary states: The second master says: These four also accompany the feeling of pain, because the manas possesses pain. Remorse increases to three; torpor increases to four—for torpor also exists in places of extreme pain; vitarka and vicāra increase to arising together with all five feelings. As for "vitarka and vicāra"—that the fifth fascicle of the Great Treatise does not say they are accompanied by pain and pleasure has already been reconciled above: this is based on the actual principle, whereas that text was based on a specific perspective.
