述曰：以離欲時要捨彼故，第三果等，於無記事等要不追悔，已審決故。若爾，豈無悔先身作惡等耶？此即是厭，非謂悔也。無記設悔，即工巧等惠，悔隨憂根有無，行相同故，如彼雖有愁戚，或是捨受等故，說是學者，順諸有學有為善法皆名學故。

The Commentary states: Because at the time of detachment from desire one must abandon it, those of the third fruit and above do not feel remorse regarding indeterminate matters and the like, as they have already formed decisive judgment. If so, how could they not regret evil done in previous lives and so forth? This is revulsion, not regret. Even if one feels remorse regarding indeterminate matters, that is the wisdom of craftsmanship and so forth; regret follows the presence or absence of the faculty of sorrow, and their mental configurations are similar; just as they, although experiencing sorrow, may possess indifferent feeling and so forth. That it is said to belong to those in training is because all conditioned wholesome phenomena that conform to those in training are called 'training'.
