述曰：如日與光，意說有異，離日輪外有光明故，如日所放千光明也。此《楞伽經》十卷成者，第七卷中〈五法品〉說。

The Commentary states: 'Like the sun and its light' means that they are different, because apart from the solar disc there is light, just as the sun emits thousands of rays of light. This is spoken in the seventh fascicle, the 'Chapter on the Five Dharmas', of the ten-fascicle Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra.
