述曰：此即第二，滅於六識。七、八微細，彼不能知，故不滅也。雖總言六，遠三近一。

The Commentary states: This is the second, the cessation of the six consciousnesses. The seventh and eighth are subtle; they cannot know them, hence they do not cease. Although it speaks generally of the six, [this applies] distantly to three, and closely to one.
