The Commentary states: Fascicle fifty-six of the *Yogācārabhūmi* states: “It means that after subsequent thought has arisen, those sentient beings decease from that heaven.” Hence we know that at the very end they necessarily arouse mind. The moment of arousing mind is named “thought is just arising”; when reaching the state of intermediate existence, it is called “having arisen”; when it has arisen, they then decease from that state. Fascicle fifty-nine states that ordinary persons moisten with active manifestation and seeds, so they must arouse mind. As for “they then decease from that state”: it is only after that thought has arisen that they decease from that state; this is the meaning. It is not that they only begin to arouse mind upon entering intermediate existence; intermediate existence already has mind, so why would that text trouble to state it?
